Judge Postpones Trial for Murder Defendant

During a Nov. 28 reception court proceeding, Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa Phinn postponed a trial for a man accused of murdering a woman two years ago.

Corey Jones, 48, is charged with first-degree murder, use of a firearm during a violent crime, and three counts of possession of a firearm with a felony conviction in connection to the death of 37-year-old Myiesha Marable, on Oct. 20, on the 1400 block of Mosher Street.

At Monday’s hearing, Judge Phinn ordered a postponement as Jones’ defense attorney, Shomari Taylor, was not present.

According to The Baltimore Sun, Jones was arrested on Nov. 10, 2020, by Baltimore Police’s Regional Auto Theft Task Force on the 700 block of E. 22nd Street.

Jones continues to be held without bail.
