After refusing to sever two co-defendants cases on Nov. 15 Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jeannie J. Hong sent the case of two homicide co-defendants to be heard before Judge Melissa K. Copeland for a postponement.

Tywon Johnson’s defense counsel Andrea Jaskulski argued that she wanted her client to have his trial separate from his co-defendant. However, the prosecutor noted it would be a waste of time for the defendant to be tried separately and unnecessary to have the same witnesses be called again for the same incident.

Johnson, 28, and Aaron Michael Clubb, 26, are both charged with first-degree murder, armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, and firearm use during a violent crime in connection to an incident on July 15, 2019.

Clubb is also charged with conspiracy to first-degree murder and illegal possession of a firearm. Johnson and Clubb’s trial, which is expected to last for five days,  is scheduled to begin on May 8, 2023, with Judge Jennifer Schiffer presiding.
