Convicted attempted murderer, Daunte Emmerson, appeared before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jeannie Hong for a violation of probation hearing on Aug. 8.
Emmerson was found guilty of attempted first-degree murder and use of a handgun in committing a crime in August 2008. Emmerson was sentenced to 30 years in prison, suspending all but 13 years with 5 years of probation for first-degree murder and an additional five years in prison for use of handgun in committing a crime.
Emmerson had been in an in-person treatment center after his release from prison and was recently arrested for violation of probation, said counsel.
Judge Hong ordered Emmerson to return to his treatment program for schizophrenia.
The details of Emmerson’s violation of probation were not discussed.
Emmerson was represented by defense attorney Roland Kurland.
Emmerson’s hearing was postponed. His next violation of probation hearing is set for Sept. 6.
