A post-trial hearing for a 39-year-old Baltimore man charged with attempted murder was postponed July 21 due to the defendant not being in person before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Anthony F. Vittoria

Jermaine Davis, is charged with first and second-degree attempted murder, first and second-degree assault, use of a firearm during a violent crime, possession of a firearm with a felony conviction and having a handgun within 100 yards of the public in connection to an incident on Aug. 2, 2021.

Defense attorney Natalie Finegar requested to postpone the trial due to a scheduling conflict with the court.

The prosecution had no arguments.

Judge Vittoria granted the postponement.

According to a press release, Jermaine Davis, 39, was arrested for allegedly shooting a 29-year-old male multiple times on Aug. 2, 2021, on the 2500 block of Edmondson Avenue. The victim was transported to an area hospital.

According to the police, the shooting occurred after a verbal dispute.

The defendant’s next hearing is scheduled for Oct. 24.
