On June 24, a prosecutor extended a plea offer to a 24-year-old Baltimore man accused of murder before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn

Dayquan Lawson is charged with second-degree murder, and use of a firearm during a violent crime in connection to an incident on Dec. 30, 2021.

During court proceedings, the prosecutor informed the court that not all the evidence has been disclosed, specifically, the victim’s medical records from the hospital as well as checking to see if the final crime scene sketch has been provided for defense counsel.

However, the prosecutor presented a plea of four years for second-degree murder and 20 years for use of a firearm during a violent crime. The charges are set to run concurrently.

Lawson has a pending plea offer but his defense attorney Roland Harris has yet to relay the offer to his client.

According to CBS Baltimore, on Dec. 30, 2021, officers were called to the Interstate 295 ramp from Westport about 9 p.m. where they found 20-year-old Kenneth Lawson unresponsive with signs of trauma to the head, according to the Baltimore Police Department.

Paramedics pronounced Lawson dead at the scene.

Lawson is scheduled to return to reception on Aug. 16.
