The Baltimore Police Department is investigating a shooting in the afternoon of June 21.
According to a news release, officers were called to the intersection of North Patterson Park at East North Avenue around 1:19 p.m. for reports of a shooting, where they found 43-year-old Donta Cory Wheeler suffering from a gunshot to the torso.
Medics took the victim to an area hospital for treatment.
Eastern District Shooting detectives were summoned to the scene and assumed control over the investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact detectives at 410-396-2433.
