A 32-year-old Baltimore man accused of attempted murder last October faces a life sentence after rejecting a plea of 35 years on April 12 in Baltimore City Circuit Court.
Marcus Jones is charged with attempted first and second-degree murder as well as assault, reckless endangerment, and six firearms charges for an incident on Oct. 21, 2021.
During reception court on Tuesday, the prosecution offered Jones a plea of life, suspending all but 35 years, and five years on probation for attempted first-degree murder and a concurrent five years without parole for firearm use during a felony violent crime.
The plea also required Jones to stay away from the victim.
The defendant and his defense attorney, Warren Brown, rejected the plea.
Judge Melissa M. Phinn set Jones’ trial for June 22.
