An assistant state’s attorney informed Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn on March 21 that she is awaiting “significant discovery” for the homicide case of Zachariah Allison before presenting a plea offer.

During reception court on Monday, the prosecution told Judge Phinn that the state currently has no plea offer on the table for Allison, who is charged with first-degree murder, firearm use during a felony violent crime, possession of a firearm as a minor, reckless endangerment, third-degree burglary, and second-degree assault in connection to the death of Ja’Nyi Weeden.

The prosecution said she is waiting to receive discovery from the medical examiner as well as the Baltimore Police Department, which may impact a potential plea offer.

Allison’s case was scheduled to return to reception court on Aug. 4 when counsel will discuss a possible trial date for January 2023.

No defense attorney is currently listed for Allison, according to the Maryland Judiciary website.

According to charging documents, the incident resulted over a domestic dispute on the 3600 block of Eversley Street on Aug. 10, 2021.
