A 30-year-old Baltimore man accused of homicide has been deemed competent to stand trial before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Gale E. Rasin on March 2 during mental health court.

Epenetus Henriques is charged with first-degree murder and use of a deadly weapon with intent to injure in connection to the death of his 29-year-old roomate Isaiah Drummond on Jan. 23, 2020.

According to WBAL TV, 29-year-old Isaiah Drummond was missing for two weeks before police arrived at his and Henrique’s home on the 2500 block of Cecil Avenue. At the address, police discovered evidence of foul play.

Henrique confessed to the murder and led police to a river near the 100 block of Redbird Avenue. Police recovered Drummond’s body at approximately 1:42 p.m.

Judge Rasin indicated without unreasonable doubt that Henriques is competent to stand trial.

Henriques’ trial is scheduled for Dec. 15.
