A man accused of shooting a woman during a robbery rejected a plea during reception court on Oct. 12 at Baltimore City Circuit Court.
Paul King, 37, is charged with attempted first and second-degree murder, first-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and six firearm-related charges.
According to CBS Baltimore, King allegedly shot a 60-year-old woman during an attempted robbery on Dec. 13, 2020, on the 1200 block of Decker Street around 3:45 p.m.
The prosecution offered a plea of 40 years, suspending all but 25 years for attempted murder and five years without the possibility of parole for the use of a firearm in the commission of a crime. The under the plea deal the sentence would run concurrently.
However, King and his defense attorney, Roland Brown, rejected the offer. A trial was set for Feb. 10, 2022.
