Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn set a trial date on Oct. 1 for a non-fatal shooting defendant.
According to CBS Local, Gerrod Maddox allegedly shot a 32-year-old man outside the Forest Park Market in Northwest Baltimore.
Maddox, 48, is charged in connection to an incident on Jan. 13 and faces charges of attempted first-degree murder, first and second-degree assault, felony use of a firearm in a violent crime, reckless endangerment, illegal possession of a regulated firearm, having a handgun on his person, and discharging firearms.
The prosecution offered a plea of 30 years, suspending all but 20 years, for attempted first-degree murder, and five years to run concurrent for felony use of a firearm in a violent crime.
Defense attorney Robert Cole said the offer was rejected, and a trial date was set for Feb. 7, 2022.
