A 39-year-old man was arrested on Aug. 27 in connection to an attempted murder in July.

On July 29, the Baltimore Police Department reported that officers were called to the 1200 block of West Mulberry Street around 6:45 p.m. for reports of cutting. Police arrived to find a 39-year-old woman with multiple lacerations to her face and body.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was stabilized and later taken to a facility specializing in traumatic injuries. Police said the woman had more than 20 cuts to her face, which would require reconstructive surgery.

Following their investigation, police identified Mitchell Kirby as the suspect and arrested him last Aug. 27.

Kirby is currently being held at Central Booking.
