A non-fatal shooting defendant received a plea offer on Aug. 26 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn

A 25-year-old male is charged with armed carjacking, carjacking, second-degree assault, theft between $1,500 and $25,000, car theft, unauthorized removal of a motor vehicle, use of a deadly weapon with the intent to injure, discharging firearms, and giving a false statement to a police officer.

The defendant was charged in connection to an incident that occurred on Oct. 8, 2019.

According to the prosecutor, the defendant would plead guilty to carjacking for a sentence of 15 years, suspending all but six, with two years of supervised probation.

The defendant and his defense attorney, Karyn Meriwether, have the pending plea offer, which requires the defendant to have his time run concurrent with the time he has already served. However, the motion is not guaranteed depending on Judge Melissa M. Copeland‘s decision.

The defendant’s trial date is not scheduled, according to the Maryland Judiciary website.
