24-year-old Alleged Murderer Rejects Plea Offer

A Baltimore man charged with second-degree murder rejected his plea offer on Aug. 25 at the Baltimore City Circuit Court.

According to the Baltimore Police Department, 22-year-old  Jonathon Calloway stabbed a 25-year-old man who was pronounced dead by doctors at the St. Agnes Hospital on Sept. 4, 2019. After speaking to witnesses, an arrest warrant for Calloway was issued, and he was arrested on the 3300 block of Windsor Avenue.

Calloway also faces charges for having a deadly weapon with the intent to injure. 

The defendant was offered a 40 year sentence suspending all but 25 years, along with three years for the weapon charge, which would run concurrently. The defendant rejected this plea offer.

Calloway trial date is scheduled for Jan. 4, 2022.
