A Louisiana man is set for a November jury trial in the Baltimore City Circuit Court after he was charged with murder in March 2019.
Lorenzo Thomas, 45, is charged with first-degree murder, conspiring to first-degree murder, firearm use in a violent crime, illegal possession of a firearm and having a handgun on his person.
During postponement court on May 20 before Judge Melissa M. Phinn, the prosecution offered Thomas a plea deal of life suspending all but 60 years and five years probation for one count of first-degree murder. Paul Batchelor, Thomas’ public defender, said Thomas requested a jury trial, which was scheduled for Nov. 3, 2021.
According to the Baltimore Sun, Thomas allegedly shot and killed Lee Tyree, 39, on the 3900 block of Penhurst Avenue in March 2019. Thomas, who currently resides in Shreveport, LA, was living on the 5200 block of Linden Heights Avenue at the time of the shooting.
