The jury trial for Aaron Mills was postponed on July 16 after scheduling conflicts involving the prosecution in Baltimore City Circuit Court.
Mills, 43, is charged with two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of use of a firearm in a crime of violence, second-degree assault, assault on a law enforcement officer, reckless endangerment, resisting arrest, multiple firearms offenses, drug distribution-related offenses and other weapons charges stemming from a Dec. 28, 2025, shooting on Belair Road.
According to charging documents, Baltimore Police responded to the 6000 block of Belair Road shortly before 2 a.m. on Dec. 28, 2025, after reports of a shooting. Prosecutors allege Mills retrieved firearms from a black Dodge Ram truck after an argument over an unpaid bar tab at Hubcap Bar & Grill. The defendant reportedly threatened multiple patrons and fired several rounds toward two victims. No injuries were reported. Police later recovered a handgun, rifle, spent shell casings and ammunition from the scene. Mills is also accused of resisting arrest and assaulting an officer during his arrest.
The case was initially scheduled to begin before Judge LaZette Ringgold-Kirksey. However, it was sent to reception court after prosecutors requested a postponement because they were engaged in another trial.
The case was reset for a jury trial before Judge Ringgold-Kirksey on July 20.
