The trial of 34-year-old Christopher Peacock continued on March 5 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Alan C. Lazerow with jurors hearing testimony from investigators who responded to the Fells Point crime scene.
Peacock is charged with attempted murder, assault, firearm use, reckless endangerment and three other gun offenses in connection to an incident that occurred July 20, 2025 at an apartment complex on the 900 block of Fell Street. Peacock allegedly attempted to shoot the victim in the head, but his weapon failed to discharge. Charging documents state that during Peacock’s second attempt to shoot the victim, the bullet struck the floor.
In her opening argument, the prosecutor alleged that the shooting occurred after the victim notified a friend at the apartment that Peacock possessed a gun and should be removed. The prosecution argued that Peacock’s intent to kill was clear, stating, “He was conscious of his intent to kill. How do we know that? He was standing upright.”
Body-worn footage showed the search of Peacock’s car, which allegedly resulted in the recovery of a gun. Investigators reportedly located seven cartridges and a magazine. A subsequent search of Peacock’s pockets allegedly yielded additional ammunition. During the search of the apartment where the shooting occurred, officers located two cartridges. It was later determined that all the recovered ammunition likely matched the gun recovered from Peacock’s car.
According to the testimony of a ballistics expert, the recovered gun was in working order.
The trial is set to continue on March 6.
