A trial date was set in reception court on Nov. 4 for an attempted murder case involving teenage defendant Robert E. Davis III.
Davis, 17, is charged as an adult with attempted first- and second-degree murder, firearm use in a felony violent crime, and reckless endangerment in connection to an April 12 shooting on the 3600 block of St. Victor Street.
According to charging documents, a 29-year-old man was found lying on the floor of a convenience store with a gunshot wound to his left hip and an open wound on his left hand. Two witnesses told police that the victim had been shot but did not see the source of the gunfire. Three 9mm shell casings were found on the 3600 block of St. Victor Street beside the convenience store.
Surveillance footage captured three gunshots before the victim collapsed outside the store and slid inside, clutching his side. The video also showed a man identified as Davis, wearing an army fatigue bubble jacket and a black Nike face mask, running south on St. Victor Street with his hands tucked inside his jacket as if concealing a weapon.
Davis’ defense attorney, Judit Otvos, filed a motion to have him tried as a juvenile, delaying the case. The motion was later denied, and Davis will be tried as an adult. Due to witness availability and scheduling conflicts, both the state and the defense requested a February 2026 trial.
Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland scheduled the trial to begin on Feb. 10, 2026, before Judge Barry G. Williams, with three days allotted for proceedings.
