Judge Denies Motion to Suppress Evidence in Patterson Avenue Shooting Case

Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jeffrey M. Geller heard a motion to suppress evidence on Oct. 21 in the case of a man accused of an armed robbery incident that occurred in Northwest Baltimore last August.

Travis Maynor, 45, faces 22 charges, including two counts each of attempted first- and second-degree murder, three counts each of first-degree assault, and multiple robbery and firearm-related offenses. Maynor is charged in connection to the Aug. 8, 2024, shooting of a 28-year-old man at a Carroll Motor Fuels gas station on the 4100 block of Patterson Avenue.

During the hearing, defense attorney Andre Mahasa argued that evidence obtained from a vehicle search should be excluded, claiming the search violated Maynor’s right to privacy. However, the prosecution noted the vehicle was not registered to Maynor, raising questions about his legal standing to challenge the search.

When Judge Geller asked Maynor whether he wished to testify to about the motion, he declined. The judge subsequently denied the motion, citing a lack of standing.Maynor’s trial is set to be held before Judge Jeannie J. Hong Oct 27.
