Postponement for Pulaski Highway Defendant

A trial for Adam Turner Gates Jr, 23, was initially set Oct. 1.However, the proceeding was pushed back by a few weeks.

Gates is charged with three counts of assault in the first degree, three counts of assault in the second degree and multiple firearm charges among several others.

Court documents state that Gates was involved in an incident on Sept.11, 2024, at the Royal Farms on the 5000 block of Pulaski Highway. Police say he assaulted a woman and fired multiple shots at a nearby bird killing it, before fleeing in a stolen Infiniti.

The case was sent to Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland for a joint request for postponement between both parties.

Surveillance footage also showed him allegedly pointing a gun at two female employees at another Royal Farms on the 6200 block of Pulaski Highway.

He was later arrested in Perryville after another armed confrontation.

The case is now scheduled for a three-day trial beginning Oct. 20 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Kimberly C. McBride.
