Late Defense Attorney Delays Shooting Sentencing

Imposing sentence for 27-year-old Timothy Shearn Jr. was postponed on Oct. 16 by Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Hope Tipton because his defense attorney arrived just 30 minutes before her next case.

Sheam was convicted of first-degree murder, two counts of firearm use, first degree assault, and having a handgun on his person. The charges stem from a dispute involving Shearn and his former partner’s boyfriend. Prosecutors allege that the two men argued before Shearn entered a nearby residence, retrieved a firearm, returned, and fatally shot Deonyaye Johnson.

The sentencing is rescheduled for Jan 13, 2027.
