Insufficient witness testimony led parties to agree to drop all charges against murder defendant Devin Shadle, 21, on April 28 in a June 24, 2024 non-fatal shooting incident.

Shadle was initially charged with attempted first- and second-degree murder, first-degree assault, reckless endangerment, firearm use in a felony or violent crime, and related gun violations in connection to shooting.

According to charging documents, at approximately 11:32 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 1800 block of Desoto Road for a report of an armed person. Upon arrival, the officer met with a female victim who advised that an unknown white male, later identified as Shadle, was knocking on her door with a black gun in his right hand. After no one responded, she said, Shadle walked to a gray vehicle and drove northbound on De Soto Road.

While the officer was speaking with the female victim, a white male victim pulled up to the location in a 2002 Maroon Dodge Ram 1500 truck with Maryland tags. and stated that his vehicle was just fired upon.

The male victim alleged he was dropping the female victim off at her home when he allegedly observed Shadle walk to the 2500 block of Washington Boulevard. He said he then asked Shadle whether he had been at his house with a gun.

The two exchanged words briefly before Shadle withdrew a firearm and allegedly fired three rounds at the vehicle, striking the rear tailgate twice and the rear bumper once. Shadle then fled the location in an unknown direction.

No injuries were sustained during the exchange. Crime lab technicians took photographs of the crime scene and recovered a bullet fragment from the vehicle.

Defense attorney Jason Rodriguez represented Shadle and Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge LaZette Ringgold-Kirksey presided over the hearing. No further hearings are scheduled in this case.
