After a six-day trial, a jury was unable to reach a unanimous verdict for murder suspect Darius Savoy, leading Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Althea M. Handy to declare a mistrial on April 15.

Savoy, 26, faced seven charges in connection to the fatal shooting of Allante Alexander, 30, in the 2000 block of W. Lexington Street. The counts include two for first-degree murder and one each of firearm use in a violent crime and first-degree assault.

Jurors were unable to reach consensus on the firearm violations, which included conspiracy to use a firearm in a crime of violence and two counts of carrying or transporting a handgun.

Savoy is set to receive a new trial date on May 9 hearing before Judge Melissa K. Copeland.
