Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland scheduled a jury trial for 29-year-old attempted murder defendant William Demetrius Elliot for April 17.
Elliot is charged with attempted first- and second-degree murder, first-degree assault, firearm use in a felony or violent crime, firearm possession with a felony conviction, illegal possession of ammunition, discharging a firearm, and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, armed robbery, first-degree assault, and firearm use in a felony violent or crime.
Elliot and his girlfriend, Saidah J. Williams, were allegedly involved in a Sept. 8, 2022 shooting attempted murder on the 1800 block of N. Chapel Street that wounded the victim in the chest and abdomen where Baltimore Police Department (BPD) officers found him.
Williams allegedly dug through the victim’s pockets while Elliot shot him. The couple is said to have fled the scene in a Black Honda vehicle.
Williams was arrested before Elliot. She was charged with attempted first- and second-degree murder, firearm use in a felony violent crime,, first- and second-degree assault, c, and related conspiracy charges. She is also charged with reckless endangerment, accessory after the fact, having a loaded handgun in a vehicle, and having a handgun in a vehicle.
In a Feb. 10 hearing, the judge set the jury trial held before Judge Yvette Bryant with defense attorney Tony N. Garcia representing Elliot.
