Baltimore Circuit Court Judge Melissa Copeland with the help of an interpreter scheduled a jury trial for three codefendants accused of homicide in a hearing on Jan. 31.
Twenty-one-year-old Brian Herrera-Cardenas, 23-year-old Eliseo Lopez-Alvarez, and 23-year-old Olvin Josue Posas-Alvarenga are represented by defense attorneys Jose A. Molina, Christopher C. Nieto, and Jerry Rodriguez, respectively.
All three are charged with first-degree murder, firearm use in a felony crime, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, and conspiracy to use a firearm in a felony crime.
No plea deal was offered by the state. The upcoming trial date was scheduled for July 21.
