Police and bystander witnesses took the stand on Jan. 27, the fourth day of 27-year-old Daquan Parker’s homicide trial before Baltimore City Circuit Judge Nicole Baremore. Parker is accused of killing 19-year-old Rasheed Lindsey.
The first witness, a resident of the 5000 block of Pembridge Avenue testified that he saw two masked individuals in a nearby alley on the night of the incident, one of whom pointed a gun at a younger man. Prior to hearing six or seven gunshots, the witness allegedly heard the victim scream, “I’ll just leave her alone!”
The witness testified that after the shooting, the perpetrators ran to a nearby car having removed their masks. Defense attorney Hunter Pruette, asked the witness whom he had seen. The eyewitness identified and described Parker as one of the shooters. He also noted that he had seen a laser beam from one of the firearms.
A Baltimore Police Department (BPD) firearms expert testified that responders recovered two 9mm semi-automatic pistols, a Smith & Wesson and a Taurus G2C, along with one live cartridge, 13 cartridge casings, and five projectile fragments. The firearms examiner compared test fires from both pistols to the recovered evidence and found the projectile results to be consistent with the Smith &Wesson pistol but not the Taurus G2C.
The court also summoned a BPD officer and a homicide detective, who submitted footage from body worn and surveillance cameras captured the day of the shooting said to show Parker’s alleged co-conspirator on the 400 block of Cummings Court.
A BPD officer testified he was the first to arrive on the scene and body worn camera footage captured the officer attempting to stabilize the victim. The officer found more than seven shell casings nearby.
A homicide detective testified that he arrived at the scene early on March 10, 2024, the day after the crime. He spoke to a witness who said a man going by the name of “Weasel” was allegedly the second shooter. The suspect identified as Weasel, Parker and another man were arrested on March 14, 2024.
