Prosecutors have offered Roger Alvarado-Mendoza, 25, a plea agreement in a murder case.

Mendoza is being charged with first-degree murder, firearm use in a felony violent crime, carrying a handgun on person, and for carrying a handgun within ten yards of the public.

The prosecution offered for murder, life in prison suspended all but fifty years and five years on probation. For count two, firearm use in a felony violent crime, fifteen years in prison with first five years to be served without parole. These sentences are to be served concurrently.

At a pre-trial conference hearing on Jan. 17, the defense counsel said they would need more discussion with Alvarado-Mendoza to finalize his decision. However, defense attorney Antonios A Heper said, “I believe it is more likely than not for this offer to be rejected.”

Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K Copeland has scheduled the next hearing for Feb. 28.
