A police detective testified against a homicide defendant on Jan. 14 in Baltimore City Circuit Court.

Darrean Fleming, 25, along with his co-defendants 22-year-old Wesley Lambert and 24-year-old Garry Morris, are accused of murdering 20-year-old Amare Burruss in a drive-by shooting that took place on Dec. 7, 2022 near the 4200 block of Pimlico Road.

Fleming’s charges include two counts of first-degree murder, firearm usage in a felony or violent crime, and having a handgun in his vehicle.

The testifying officer said during his testimony that video evidence captured Fleming, Lambert, and Morris in the act of shooting Burruss.

Fleming’s defense attorney Michael Tomko rebutted the witness’s claims, stating that it’s unclear whether the man in the video is Fleming and that no DNA from Fleming was found on the murder weapons.

Fleming’s case is heard in front of Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Lynn S. Mays and will conclude on Jan. 15.
