During a murder trial on Nov.18 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Cynthia H. Jones, the defendant claimed the victim actually tried to rob him

Davon Parker, 30, is charged with attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, firearm use in a felony violent crime, having a handgun on his person, and firearm possession with a felony conviction.

Parker’s attorney, Jason Rodriguez, claimed that said he acted in self-defense because the victim was following him to steal his money.

Prosecutors disputed this, saying the victim was walking home and only asked Parker for money without being threatening.

A Baltimore Police Department (BPD) detective said that when he interviewed Parker about the incident, the defendant claimed that he did not recognize the victim.

Testimony is expected to continue on Nov. 19.
