Woman Accused of Sheldon Avenue Shooting Gets December Trial Date Amid Plea Negotiations

A 46-year-old woman was given a December trial date for allegedly shooting a man during an argument earlier this year.

Felicia Thelma Mull is charged with attempted first and second-degree murder, the defendant is also charged with first and second-degree assault, firearm use in a felony or violent crime, having a handgun on her person, having a loaded handgun on her person and firing a gun.

On Oct. 24, Mull and her defense attorney, Ryan Burke, appeared before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland. The prosecutor informed Judge Copeland that she had not yet relayed a plea offer as she had not spoken with Burke prior to Thursday’s proceeding.

Although the prosecution expects to provide Mull with an offer, counsel and the judge agreed to schedule a three-day trial, beginning Dec. 18, before Judge Robert K. Taylor Jr. This will put Mull’s case before her Hicks date on Jan. 6, 2025.

According to the Hicks rule, defendants have the right to have their case heard within 180 days of their first court appearance or their attorney’s first court appearance.

Mull’s attempted murder charges stem from an altercation on Feb. 21 when she was accused of having an argument with the 41-year-old victim on the 4200 block of Sheldon Avenue. Mull allegedly shot the victim in his upper body, but he was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition. Officers from the Baltimore Police Department (BPD) arrested Mull three months after the shooting.
