The defense attorney for a man charged with firearm possession asked to postpone a plea hearing to consider the prosecution’s offer for resolving a non-fatal shooting.

Daquan Rashard Williams, 23, is charged with firearm possession with a felony conviction, having a handgun on his person, firing and discharging a gun within Baltimore City limits and illegal possession of ammunition for a March 19 incident.

The prosecution offered Williams a plea of 15 years, suspending all but seven years, with the first five years without the possibility of parole. Williams accepted the offer, but his defense attorney, Avrohom Greenfield, asked Judge Melissa K. Copeland of the Baltimore City Circuit Court for a postponement.

Judge Copeland agreed to move the plea hearing, scheduling it for Jan. 21, 2025.
