Defendant Accepts Manslaughter Plea For Killing His Two-Year-Old Daughter

A Baltimore man charged with his two-year-old daughter’s death pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter on Aug. 23, less than a year after she was shot in the family’s home.

Christopher Gamble and his attorney, Martin Cohen, appeared before Circuit Court Judge Althea M. Handy where the prosecution offered the defendant a plea of ten years for involuntary manslaughter and a concurrent 20 years, suspending all but 10 years, and five years of supervised probation for firearm use in a felony or violent crime.

The prosecution subsequently dismissed the following charges: second-degree murder, firearm possession with a felony conviction, possession of a firearm without a serial number, having a handgun on his person and in a vehicle, reckless endangerment and altering physical evidence.

Charging documents state that Gamble’s child was shot once between her eyes on Dec. 17, 2023, at the family’s home on the 6000 block of Park Heights Avenue. Gamble reportedly took his daughter to Sinai Hospital for treatment before she died from her injuries.

The defendant was arrested three days later.
