North Spring Street Mass Shooting Injures Eight, One Fatally

On Aug. 18, at approximately 8:01 p.m., Eastern District patrol officers responded to the 1300 block of North Spring Street in reference to multiple calls of a reported shooting.

Once there, Baltimore Police Department officers located multiple victims on scene suffering from gunshot wounds. A short time later, additional victims walked into area hospitals seeking treatment for gunshot wounds. Eight total shooting victims were identified by officers. 

The victims include a 36-year-old male, a 46-year-old male, a 23-year-old male, a 40-year-old male, a 41-year-old female, a 45-year-old male, a 21-year-old male and a 39-year-old adult male.

Medics arrived at the location and transported the victims to area hospitals, where the 36-year-old male was pronounced deceased. The remaining victims range from critical condition to stable condition.

Homicide detectives responded to the scene and assumed control over the investigation.

Update: The fatal victim has been identified as 36-year-old Anthony Martin.
