Western District Shooting Victim in Critical Condition

On Aug. 10, at approximately 9:54 p.m. Western District patrol officers responded to the 1300 block of North Carey Street in reference to a ShotSpotter alert.

Once there, Baltimore Police Department officers located a 36-year-old male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

Medics responded to the location and transported the victim to an area hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

Update: Melvin Rich III later died of his injuries on Sept. 16.
