On Aug. 10, at approximately 9:54 p.m. Western District patrol officers responded to the 1300 block of North Carey Street in reference to a ShotSpotter alert.
Once there, Baltimore Police Department officers located a 36-year-old male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
Medics responded to the location and transported the victim to an area hospital where he is listed in critical condition.
Western District Detectives are asking anyone with information to contact them at 410-396-2477 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7Lockup.
Update: Melvin Rich III later died of his injuries on Sept. 16.
