A 59-year-old man is facing attempted murder charges after a shoot-out with Baltimore Police Department officers on Christmas Day.
According to the police, officers were called to a home on the 4100 block of Crawford Avenue shortly before 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 25 in response to a potential behavioral crisis. Officers arrived and found Barron Von Coe who began speaking with them and suggested that explosives were in and around the house.
Police said Coe then revealed a silver Davis Industries .380 caliber semi-automatic handgun, and officers fired and struck Coe. He was taken into custody, and medics took him to a hospital where he was listed in stable condition.
During their search of the home, police said they found a box with tube-like structures, wires, and a power source; however, it was later found to be inert with no explosive material.
Coe is charged with first and second-degree attempted murder, first and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, firearm use in a felony violent crime, and multiple handgun violations.
