The trial of a 57-year-old Baltimore man facing murder charges was scheduled after rejecting a plea offer on Aug. 30 at Baltimore City Circuit Court.
George Pullett is charged in connection to an incident on May 21, 2020. He is charged with first-degree murder, attempted first and second-degree murder, first-degree assault, possession of a firearm with a felony conviction, and two counts of firearm use in a violent crime.
On Monday, defense attorney Shannon Heery said that Pullett rejected the prosecution’s plea offer of life for first-degree murder, firearm use in a violent crime, and attempted first-degree murder. He was also offered a plea of 15 years, the first five years without parole, to be served consecutively in another case involving firearm charges.
Pullett then waived his October Hick’s date, which is his right to be tried within 180 days of his first court appearance.
After agreement from the prosecutor and Heery, Judge Melissa M. Phinn set a trial date for March 1, 2022, with Judge Philip S. Jackson presiding.
