A defendant allegedly involved in an attempted murder rejected a plea offer on Aug. 31 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn.
Donelle Griffin, 35, is charged with attempted first and second-degree murder, first and second-degree assault, use of a firearm in a violent crime, possession of a firearm with a felony conviction, having a handgun on his person, and discharging firearms as well as two counts of reckless endangerment.
He is charged in connection to an incident on May 10, 2020.
Judge Phinn listened as the prosecutor presented a plea of 30 years, suspending all but 15 years, for attempted second-degree murder, and five years without parole to run concurrently for use of a firearm in a violent crime.
The defendant and his defense attorney, Maureen O’Leary, rejected the plea offer, and the defendant waived his Hick’s date, which is his right to be tried within 180 days of his first court appearance.
Griffin’s trial is scheduled for Dec. 1, with Judge Charles H. Dorsey III presiding.
