A 34-year-old Baltimore man accused of manslaughter pleaded guilty, accepting a plea of five years with five years probation on May 18 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Gregory Sampson.
Brian Scott is charged with traffic violation, automotive manslaughter, and vehicular manslaughter in connection to an incident on Aug. 10, 2020.
During court proceedings on Wednesday, Judge Sampson listened as the prosecutor presented a plea of 10 years suspending all but five years with five years probation for vehicular manslaughter.
Under the plea, the defendant must have no contact with the family.
Scott and his defense attorney Sharon May, accepted the plea.
According to Baltimore Sun, three drivers were speeding down Wabash Avenue shortly after 1 a.m. on Aug. 10, 2020. One car lost control and led to the crash. 30-year-old Keyona Thomas, who was a passenger in Scott’s vehicle, died at a hospital.
