31-year-old Baltimore Man Rejects Plea

A Baltimore man accused of an attempted murder was offered a plea deal on Oct. 18 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn

Bryant Adams, 31, is charged with first-degree and second-degree attempted murder, first and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, use of a firearm in a violent crime, possession of a firearm with a felony conviction, having a handgun on his person, and with wearing, carrying, or transporting a handgun within 100 yards of a school.

He was charged in connection to an incident on Nov. 29, 2020.

Judge Phinn listened as the prosecution presented a plea of 50 years suspending all but 20 years with 3 years probation for first-degree attempted murder.

Adams and his defense attorney, Marc Zayon, rejected the plea offer. In addition, Adams decided to retain his Hicks date, which is his right to be tried within 180 days of his first court appearance.

According to Baltimore (WJZ), on Nov. 29, police officers responded to reports of gunshots on the 3600 block of 9th street. On arrival officers found a 27-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound.

Baltimore police arrested and charged Adams as a suspect in connection to the shooting.

Adams’ trial is scheduled for Jan. 18, 2022.
