A 30-year-old Baltimore man accused of homicide rejected a plea of 60 years with five years supervised probation on Feb. 24 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn.
Epenetus Henriques is charged with first-degree murder and use of a deadly weapon with intent to injure in connection to an incident on Jan. 23, 2020.
During reception court, Judge Phinn listened as the prosecutor presented a plea of life suspending all but 60 years, with five years supervised probation for first-degree murder.
Henriques and his defense attorney, Brandon Mead, rejected the plea offer.
According to WBAL TV, 29-year-old Isaiah Drummond was missing for two weeks before police arrived at his and Henrique’s home on the 2500 block of Cecil Avenue, where they discovered evidence of foul play.
Henrique confessed to the murder and led police to a river near the 100 block of Redbird Avenue, where the police recovered Drummond’s body at approximately 1:42 p.m.
Henriques’ next hearing is scheduled for March 2.
His trial is scheduled for Dec. 15.
