The Baltimore Police Department is investigating a homicide after a 27-year-old man injured in a shooting in 2019 died from his injuries earlier this year.
According to a news release, Devin Kashawn Turner, who was 25 at the time of the shooting, died from his injuries on April 2. Following a medical examination, Turner’s death was ruled a homicide.
The shooting occurred on Dec. 20, 2019, around 1:45 a.m. when officers were called to the unit block of S. Eutaw Street and found evidence of a shooting. Shortly after, two victims, Turner and a 30-year-old man, were reported at a nearby hospital with gunshot wounds.
Turner was listed in critical condition, while the other victim was in stable condition.
Police said two men were arrested and charged with first-degree murder; however, their names were not released. The news release did not state if or when the defendants’ charges will change.
