24-Year-Old Arrested for First-Degree Murder

A 24-year-old man has been arrested for the murder of a 27-year-old man on Aug. 1. 

The Baltimore Police Department has reported the arrest of Daquan Gilliard, 24, approximately two weeks after the incident on the 2400 block of Kermit Court, where Travon Johnson, 27, was found suffering from a gunshot to his head around 9:21 p.m. 

The victim was transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center and was pronounced dead by medical personnel after succumbing to his injuries.

There were reports that a shooting occurred inside of a residence, said the police.

On Aug. 15,  Gilliard surrendered himself to detectives. 

Following his arrest, Gilliard is currently being held at the Baltimore City Central Booking Intake Facility, where he is being charged with first-degree murder.
