2021 Attempted Murder Defendant Gets June Trial Date

On March 15, Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland scheduled a trial date for a 39-year-old man accused of a 2021 attempted murder.

Tyrelle Fields is charged with attempted first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, using a handgun in the commission of a crime, having a handgun on his person, having a handgun in a vehicle on a public road, having a loaded handgun on his person and in a vehicle, firearm possession with a felony conviction, possession of firearms in a drug offense and illegal possession of ammunition in connection to a May 5, 2021, incident.

Stand-in defense attorney Janine Meckler and the prosecution agreed to schedule Fields’ trial for four days beginning on June 20. Judge Copeland said Judge Jennifer B. Schiffer would preside.

Fields and his co-defendant Keisha Clark will be tried separately. Per District Court of Maryland documents, Fields and Clark allegedly attempted to rob Fields’ cousin, Clark’s ex-boyfriend, on the 600 block of North Paca Street. Fields allegedly shot his cousin in the course of the robbery.
