19-Year-Old Shot at Mondawmin Home, Person of Interest Apprehended

The Baltimore Police Department (BPD) announced a shooting investigation in the Western District.

On May 27, at approximately 3:59 p.m., Western District officers responded to a residence on the 2000 block of N. Bentalou Street in reference to a reported shooting.

Once on scene, officers learned that a shooting victim had been transported to an area hospital by family members. Officers responded to the hospital and observed a 19-year-old man being treated for non-life threatening gunshot wounds to his arm.

Officers took a person of interest into custody after a brief foot pursuit and transported him to an area hospital for injuries.

One officer suffered a minor injury to his hand during the incident, police say.
