A Baltimore man accused of homicide rejects a plea offer on Jan. 6 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa Phinn.
Deshon Walker, 19, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, five counts of use of a firearm during a violent crime, three counts of reckless endangerment from a car, two counts of first-degree attempted murder, two counts of conspiracy to first-degree murder, possession of a firearm as a minor, having a loaded handgun in a vehicle, two counts of attempted armed robbery, and three counts of conspiracy to commit armed robbery in connection to an incident on March 29, 2020.
On Thursday, Judge Phinn listened as the prosecutor presented a plea of life, suspending all but 50 years, for first-degree murder.
According to the Baltimore Sun, on March 29, 2020, patrol officers were called to the 2400 block of Tolley Street at approximately 12:02 a.m., after reports of shots fired, where they found 18-year-old Riyad Campbell suffering from gunshot wounds. Campbell later died despite receiving medical attention.
Walker and his defense attorney, Tony Garcia, rejected the plea offer.
Walker’s trial is scheduled for June 21, with Judge Videtta Brown presiding.
