19-Year-Old Baltimore Man Rejects 25-Year Plea

A non-fatal shooting defendant rejected a plea on Sept. 26 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn

The 19-year-old defendant is charged with four counts of first and second-degree assault, four counts of reckless endangerment, use of a firearm during a felony violent crime, malicious destruction of property value greater than $1,000, malicious destruction of property value less than $1,000, conspiracy to commit malicious destruction of property value greater than $1,000, conspiracy to commit malicious destruction of property value less than $1,000, and several firearm charges in connection to an incident on March 5. 

Brogdon and his defense attorney Isabel Lipman, rejected a plea of 25 years suspending all but 10 years with 5 years supervised probation for first-degree assault; 25 years suspending all but 10 years with 5 years supervised probation for first-degree assault; 5 years without the possibility of parole for use of a firearm during a felony violent crime. The charges were set to run concurrently. 

Under the plea, the defendant would have also been required to register as a gun offender. 

Brogdon’s trial is scheduled for Oct. 6. It is expected to last two days.
