A 17-year-old teenager was denied bail on Aug. 26 for allegedly firing a handgun at a parked Hyundai.
The juvenile’s defense attorney told Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge John S. Nugent that the defendant is charged with minor in possession of a firearm and discharging a firearm.
According to the prosecution, multiple shell casings were found at the scene, and detectives identified the teenager through video surveillance. However, no weapon has been found.
The defense attorney said his client is prescribed medication for catatonia, which causes an individual to go into a catatonic state and is often associated with schizophrenia and other mental illnesses.
Judge Nugent denied bail for the defendant.
