A Baltimore City assistant state’s attorney is expected to offer a plea to a 16-year-old homicide defendant within the next two weeks, the prosecutor informed Circuit Court Judge Melissa Phinn on Sept. 22.
The defendant is charged with first-degree murder and three weapons charges.
The prosecution is currently waiting on medic reports and a crime scene sketch to provide to defense attorney Robert Linthicum, she said, which is the last of the discovery. No offer was delivered on Thursday, but it should be ready by early October, according to the prosecution.
The defendant’s case was scheduled to return to reception court on Nov. 1.
No details of the case were discussed during the proceedings; however, the incident occurred on June 1, according to the Maryland Judiciary website.
