Woman Dies After Pennsylvania Avenue Shooting

On Sept. 22, at approximately 9:06 p.m., Western District officers received a ShotSpotter alert on the 2700 block of Pennsylvania Avenue. 

Baltimore Police Department officers responded to the location and began performing life-saving measures on an unidentified female, who was suffering from a gunshot wound. Medics arrived and transported the victim an area hospital, where she was pronounced deceased by medical professionals. 

Homicide detectives responded and assumed control over the investigation.

Update: The victim in this case has been identified as 33-year-old Jasmine Simuel.
