Defendant Quanshay Timmons appeared before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Yvette M. Bryant to accept the prosecution’s plea offer.
Timmons, 27, is charged with first-degree murder, child abuse in the first degree with severe physical injury and child abuse.
Timmons agreed to serve life, suspending all but 20 years, with five years of supervised probation for first-degree child abuse resulting in death.
Timmons, represented by Jason Rodriguez, last appeared in court on Sep. 26, 2023, when she rejected a plea of life, suspending all but 20 years, with five years of supervised probation for first-degree child abuse resulting in severe physical injury.
Timmons was accused of murdering five year-old Nivea Anderson on Nov. 15, 2021, on the 2000 block of Pelham Avenue. According to a Baltimore Police Department press release, the child was found with bruises on her face from prior abuse.
Anderson was found unresponsive by law enforcement and was later pronounced dead at Johns Hopkins Pediatrics.
